Bitcoin Poised for Breakout Amid Bond Market Stress
Standard Chartered’s crypto research head Geoffrey Kendrick believes Bitcoin (BTC) has yet to fully price in systemic risks. Kendrick warned that political pressure on the US Federal Reserve is driving bond market stress, reflected by the US 10-year term premium hitting a 12-year high. He noted concerns about inflation, debt issuance, and the potential replacement of Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell could soon spill into crypto markets.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs See $395M Inflows Over 4 Trading Days
Spot Bitcoin ETFs experienced a brief respite from outflows with $395 million in inflows over four trading days. On April 15, the ETFs saw $76.4 million in net inflows, followed by $171.1 million in outflows on April 16. However, demand rebounded on April 17 with $106.9 million in inflows, and post-Easter activity saw $381.3 million in inflows on Monday. Bitcoin’s price remained stable around $84,000 throughout the period.
